The Boys Initiative 


The Boys Initiative is a groundbreaking national campaign to shed light on documented trends in recent years pertaining to young men's "failure to launch". THE MISSION of the Initiative is to shed light on these trends, foster dialogue and debate about them, and collaborate on solutions with those who are committed to the futures of our nation's youth. Our goal is to accomplish this mission by partnering and building coalitions with organizations that represent the interests of girls and women, boys and men, parents and teachers and adolescent health care providers, among a host of other individuals, organizations and professionals devoted to the well being of our nation's youth. The Boys Initiative does not endorse or advocate for any particular point of view or proposed solution.

 
The Boys Initiative Blog - Attention Must Be Paid

The Boys Initiative is an outgrowth of the Boys and Schools program, launched by the Men’s Health Network in 2006. The mission of the Boys Initiative is to ensure that boys are prepared for rewarding and fulfilling lives that include economically valuable employment, successful relationships and marriage, responsible fatherhood, contribution to their communities and emotional health and happiness.

Formed in 1985, the Children's Rights Council (CRC) is a national non-profit organization based in Washington, DC that works to assure children meaningful and continuing contact with both their parents and extended family regardless of the parents' marital status.

False Allegations Awareness

False Allegations Awareness is a fantastic website with information on false allegations.   America’s legal system has become awash in false allegations of abuse, including false accusations of domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault. Ten percents of American's have been falsely accused of abuse.

Men's Health Network (MHN) is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to reach men and their families where they live, work, play, and pray with health prevention messages and tools, screening programs, educational materials, advocacy opportunities, and patient navigation.


NamUs - National Missing and Unidentified Persons System

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) is a national centralized repository and resource center for missing persons and unidentified decedent records. NamUs is a free online system that can be searched by medical examiners, coroners, law enforcement officials and the general public from all over the country in hopes of resolving these cases.

 
National Coalition For Men (NCFM)

Operating since 1977, the National Coalition For Men (NCFM) is a nonprofit educational organization that raises awareness about the ways sex discrimination affects men and boys.


RADAR - Respecting Accuracy In Domestic Abuse Reporting
 

R.A.D.A.R. – Respecting Accuracy in Domestic Abuse Reporting – is a non-profit, non-partisan organization of men and women working to improve the effectiveness of our nation's approach to solving domestic violence. 
  


SAVE - Stop Abusive and Violent Environments

SAVE is a non-profit victim-advocacy organization working for evidence-based solutions to domestic violence. We work to support all victims of intimate partner violence.

Wisconsin Fathers for Children and Families

Dr. Will Courtenay -- "The Men's Doc"

Dr. Will Courtenay "The Men's Doc" is an ardent and vocal advocate for men and boys, and fathers. He has dedicated – and continues to dedicate – his life's work to improving the physical and mental well-being of men and boys, and to shattering outdated myths about men and manhood. As a social scientist and researcher, Dr. Courtenay is committed to bringing to the public what science can tell us about men and masculinity – and about how to improve men’s lives. He has a clear, no-nonsense style and translates scientific findings into everyday language, and into practical, useful information.


R. Mark Rogers - Economist and Child Support Expert 

Former Commissioner, Georgia Child Support Commission, Rogers has published articles on child support economics and testified on individual child support cases in over 80 cases in 15 states.  Regarding appropriate child support laws, Rogers has testified before numerous state legislative committees and before Congress by invitation.   He has conducted research and provided economic critiques on state child support guidelines for several state child support commissions.  Rogers played notable roles in obtaining change in child support guidelines in Georgia, Tennessee, Minnesota, and New Mexico.  He conducts Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars for attorneys in Georgia on child support deviation strategies.   Rogers is a former economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and is author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Economic Indicators (2009) and Handbook of Key Economic Indicators (1994 and 1998).
