Men, Cancer, and HPV:

Living with a cancer caused by HPV: The experience of men

Tuesday 8th July  • 15.00 (BST – UK time)

REMINDER

Our next webinar on July 8 is the second in a series this year on Men, Cancer and HPV run by GAMH and NOMAN is an Island: Race To End HPV. There will be six Men, Cancer and HPV webinars in total before the end of 2025

Globally, at least 180,000 men a year are diagnosed with a cancer caused by HPV. But their personal stories are seldom heard.

This webinar aims to go beyond the scientific and medical evidence and to hear and learn from men whose lives have been directly affected by an HPV cancer.

Sharing men’s lived experience can help to challenge the stigma often associated with HPV cancers, highlight that men as well as women can be affected, and make the case for more effective prevention through gender-neutral vaccination programmes. It can also encourage boys and their parents/carers to opt for vaccination, men with cancer symptoms to seek help, and health services to do more to meet men’s specific needs.

The speakers will include Patrick Howard, who will share his experience of penile cancer, and Jason Mendelsohn, who will talk about living with throat cancer.

The webinar will take place on 8 July at these local times:

  • 10.00 EDT
  • 15.00 BST
  • 16:00 CEST
  • 16:00 SAST
  • 19.30 IST
  • 00.00 AEST (9 July)

The webinar will last 60 minutes. Register here.

If you are unable to attend but would like to be sent details of the webinar recording, please register in the normal way. And please share information about this event with your networks and contacts.

Finally, please join our new Men, Cancer and HPV mailing list to be kept informed of our work in this area.
