Robert D. Cubby

Mr. Cubby was a police captain with the Jersey City Police Departmentfor 38 years before he retired.  He is trained as a domestic violence instructor for the police department.  He was also trained by the prosecutor’s office in elder abuse and was the department’s contact person.

He is a contributor to the Grieving Behind the Badge newsletter and manager of the PTSD websites Surviving the Shield and Code Blue. He’s the Administrator of the Police Website JCPD West. 

Mr. Cubby was a cast member and interviewed in the Documentary “Film Code 9 Officer Needs Assistance.”

A public speaker on PTSD issues for NAMI, NJ- Sussex County chapter Law enforcement instructor for NAMI, NJ- Sussex. Co-Administrator of the JCPOBA- CISM program involved in peer support.

James Anthony Ellis

Mr. Ellis is a writer, producer, and filmmaker.  He is the producer of two-dozen documentaries and author of six books and editor of “The Creative Collaborative,” a monthly newsletter that can be found at his website www.LegacyProductions.org.

Tom is the author of two books on men and boy’s unique paths to heal. The first was written in the late 1990’s and titled Swallowed by a Snake: The Gift of the Masculine Side of Healing. Next was the follow up book The Way Men Heal. His latest book is for moms titled Helping Mothers be Closer to Their Sons: Understanding the Unique World of Boys.

Tom has given workshops on these topics in the U.S., Australia, Canada and Europe. His work has been featured in the NY Times, the Washington Post, on CNN, CBS Evening News, ESPN, the NFL Channel and others. Tom served as vice chair of the Maryland Commission for Men’s Health and lives outside Washington DC.
